Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 18, 2025
Our Commitment to Privacy
Quick Pit is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your location data and travel patterns belong to you and should stay on your device.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data.
Specifically:
- No location data is sent to external servers
- No travel history is collected or stored remotely
- No personal information is collected
- No usage analytics are gathered
- No crash reports are sent
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No third-party tracking services are integrated
Data Storage
All data created in Quick Pit is stored locally on your device using iOS SwiftData:
- Favorite Stops: Your saved pit stop locations are stored in the app's local database
- Location Data: Current location is used only for proximity calculations and is never stored or transmitted
- Voice Recognition: Speech-to-text conversion happens on-device using iOS Speech Recognition. No audio is stored or transmitted.
Permissions
Quick Pit requests the following permissions to function:
- Location (Always): Required to monitor your location in the background and alert you when approaching saved stops. Location data is used only for proximity calculations and is never transmitted off your device.
- Microphone: To enable voice commands like "pit stop" for hands-free operation
- Speech Recognition: To convert your voice commands to text for hands-free control
These permissions are only used for the stated purposes and no data is transmitted outside your device.
Background Location Use
Quick Pit uses background location to alert you when approaching your favorite stops while driving. This feature:
- Only activates when you're traveling at 12+ mph
- Automatically pauses when you stop moving to conserve battery
- Uses location data only for proximity calculations
- Never transmits location data to external servers
- Can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings
Apple Maps Integration
When you say "pit stop" to get directions, Quick Pit launches Apple Maps with the destination. At that point, Apple's privacy policy applies to the navigation session. Quick Pit does not track or store any information about your navigation.
Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete individual pit stops by swiping left in the list
- Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all data from your device
- There are no backups stored on external servers
Third-Party Services
Quick Pit does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The only external service used is Apple Maps, which is launched by the user's explicit voice command.
Children's Privacy
Quick Pit does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for users of all ages who are licensed drivers.
